Obituary For Mary M Shatswell October 6, 1934 – February 24, 2026

.Mary “Pete” Shatswell, a resident of Henryetta, passed this life on February 24, 2026. She was born October 6, 1934, in Hanna, Oklahoma, to Lewis and Effie (Britt) Payne.

Mary married Earl Shatswell on February 13 in Henryetta. She was one of the first female letter carriers in Henryetta. Following her retirement, Mary served as secretary for the Dewar First Baptist Church, where she faithfully supported her church family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers; and seven sisters.

Mary is survived by her children: Marilyn Shatswell of Henryetta; Pamela Lone of Purcell; Diane Carter and husband Carroll of Dewar; Earl Shatswell and wife Barbara of Dewar; and son-in-law Nolan Shockley of Tulsa.

Grandchildren include April and husband Chris Guynes; Chris and wife Rhonda; Josh and wife Jennifer; Kelly Wright; Jeremy Shatswell and wife Sheena; Andy Ammann; Adam Ammann; and Hope Hasklett and husband Dallas.

She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and her beloved church family.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, March 2, 2026, at Dewar First Baptist Church with Rev. Ryan Wells officiating. Interment will follow at Hanna Cemetery under the direction of Rogers Funeral Home.
