Obituary for Patricia Lynn Justiss

Patricia Lynn Justiss, affectionately known as Trisha, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at her home in Little Elm, Texas. She was born on August 12, 1950, in Henryetta, Oklahoma, to Alvin and Margie Coleman. Trisha lived a life rooted in family, faith, and the joy of learning.
After graduating from Henryetta High School, Trisha attended college at the University of Oklahoma, until she married Jim Bales in 1970. She went on to raise two children, Brian and Lori, and spent many years as a devoted wife, mother and business owner of King Point Resort in Grove, Oklahoma.
Later in life, Trisha moved to Texas and fulfilled a lifelong dream by earning her teaching degree in English as a Second Language from Texas A&M University. She began her teaching career in Little Elm, where she touched countless lives through her compassion, encouragement, and commitment to education.
In 2001, Trisha married Ron Justiss, the love of her later years, and together they shared a deep and joyful bond. Her kindness, faith, and generosity left a lasting impact on everyone who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Alvin and Margie Coleman; her first husband, Jim Bales; her brother-in-law, Vince Shaver; and her nephew, Jim Lay.
Trisha’s greatest joy came from being a mother, “Grammy,” and “Great Grammy.” She is survived by her husband Ron Justiss of Little Elm, Texas; her children, Brian Bales and wife Shelly of Sulphur Springs, Texas, and Lori Roman of Salina, Kansas; and her beloved niece/daughter, Mary Beth Shaver of Greenville, Texas. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Shelby and husband Josh Tucker of Paris, Texas, Brittany and husband Gideon Gregory of Sulphur Springs, Texas, Alyssa and husband Tripper Jenson of Mount Vernon, Missouri, and Miranda and husband Aaron of Combs of Madison Wisconsin, and her precious great-granddaughters, Blair Jenson and Melodi Combs.
She is also survived by her loving sisters: Gala husband Bob Lay, of Tulsa, Oklahoma,
Linda Shaver of Greenville Texas, and Kathy and husband Gary Jones of Coweta, Oklahoma, along with many nieces, nephews, and extended family who will carry her memory in their hearts.
A memorial service celebrating Trisha’s life will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, April 24, 2025, at Rogers Funeral Home Chapel, 1302 W Main St, Henryetta, Oklahoma.
